At the 6th Central European Network Conference in Warsaw, Jan-Bernd Igelmann was awarded the Bernd-Streitberg-Preis for his Master's thesis.

The prize is awarded by the German Region of the International Biometric Society (IBS-DR) for outstanding biometric qualification theses by early-career researchers.

The thesis titled "Optimal Designs for Non-Linear Segmented Regression" was supervised by Prof. Dr. Kirsten Schorning. In his thesis, he developed and analyzed strategies for optimal experimental designs in non-linear segmented regression models, motivated by a toxicological application involving the modelling of liver carcinoma cells as a function of valproic acid concentration. He showed that accounting for the segmented model structure improves precision compared to conventional approaches.
