Erasmus+ Lecturer Mobility or Teaching and Research in Salzburg
Marléne Baumeister, research assistant at the chair of Markus Pauly since October 2021, visited the working group of Arne Bathke at the Paris Lodron University in Salzburg (PLUS) in May 2023. Integrated in the Erasmus+ mobility program of the European Union (here for lecturers), Marléne had the opportunity to teach a course on Empirical Processes for PhD and Master students at PLUS.
The team of Arne Bathke, Dean of the Faculty of Digital and Analytical Sciences and Professor at the Department of Artifical Intelligence and Human Interfaces, conducts research on non-parametric methods and procedures for the analysis of multivariate and high-dimensional data, among other topics. The chairs in Salzburg and Dortmund are already collaborating in various research projects, from which numerous scientific results have already been published. Examples concern resampling methods for heterogeneous ANCOVA, MANOVA and MANCOVA designs.
In addition to the teaching experience, Marléne was able to get to know the way of working there. Moreover, further ideas for her own research emerged from the discussions with Salzburg PhD students. Of course, the opportunity to get to know Salzburg and the surrounding area and to meet people away from the PLUS was not neglected.
On the pages of the International Office you can find a short statement of Marlénes about her time in Salzburg. The International Office was the interface for the coordination of the exchange and supported her in her project.
In October we expect the return visit from Salzburg. We are already looking forward to it.
